No peace on stolen land.

Land Acknowledgement

Liminal Moon Art Club resides on the contemporary and ancestral territory of the Shawnee, Potawatomi, Delaware, Miami, Peoria, Seneca, Wyandotte, Ojibwe and many other Indigenous peoples. This land, presently known as Columbus, Ohio, was ceded to the United States in the 1795 Treaty of Greenville. The federal government then forcibly removed these tribes from their ancestral territory through the Indian Removal Act of 1830. While there are currently no federally-recognized American Indian tribes in the state of Ohio, we would like to acknowledge, honor, and thank the Ohio Indigenous communities that are preserving cultural traditions while working tirelessly to gain federal recognition on stolen land.

Liminal Moon is centered around a commitment to anti-colonial liberation of all peoples, to include the fight to restore Indigenous sovereignty and their rightful stewardship over these ancestral lands. We recognize that this acknowledgement is just one small step towards Indigenous liberation and will continue to commit ourselves to tangible actions that uplift the voices of those who tended to this land long before it was colonized by the violence of white supremacy.
